Stand with the Legion – for Veterans and Canada

Veterans Affairs Canada

Veterans Affairs Canada deeply values the contribution that Veterans have made to the development of our nation and we honour the sacrifices they have made in the defence of freedom and the pursuit of world peace.

In expressing Canada’s gratitude to them, we strive to exemplify many of the same principles which they represent – integrity, respect, service and commitment, accountability, and teamwork.

Veteran’s Service Card

The NDI 75 Veteran's Service Card is a card issued by the Canadian government to recognize former members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) who have been honorably released.

It provides a tangible symbol of recognition for former CAF members’ service and encourages an enduring affiliation with the organization.

Some companies and organizations offer discounts to Veterans. NDI 75 Veteran’s Service Cards do not expire.

CF1 Card

The CF Appreciation Program was created to offer a variety of discounts to Canadian military personnel and their families in recognition of their sacrifices and dedication.

The program expanded to include some of the world’s brands and major businesses, and is being enhanced and expanded into new markets.

Veterans Transition Network

Since its inception, the Veterans Transition Program has maintained the belief that soldiers are best served by other soldiers. The researchers found that many of the veterans they worked with were reluctant to participate in programs or access resources that were provided by the government or military, for fear that their information would not be kept confidential.

Many veterans fear the consequences an operational-stress injury could have on their military record and future career prospects.

Thus, it was important to ensure in the expansion of the VTP that this confidentiality was protected, and that though grants were sought to enable the growth of the program, the Veterans Transition Network (VTN) would remain an independent organization.

Royal Canadian Legion Dominion Command

The Royal Canadian Legion was founded by Veterans and for Veterans. We advocate for the care and benefits for all who served Canada, regardless of when or where they served.

The Legion also provides representation and assistance to Veterans, including currently serving Canadian Armed Forces and RCMP, and their families, and access to our services is available to them at no cost, whether or not they are Legion members.

The Legion helps thousands of Veterans each year and makes significant positive changes in their lives.

Poppy Campaign

Each year, from the last Friday in October until Remembrance Day, millions of Canadians wear a poppy as a visible pledge to never forget those who served and sacrificed.
