Ladies Auxiliary
Where Women Make a Difference - Together
From their very first gathering in 1938—when mothers, daughters, sisters and widows of Legion members came together to welcome Veterans home—the Ladies Auxiliary of Branch 261 has woven compassion and community spirit into every event and initiative.
Over the years, these dedicated volunteers quietly packed care kits, served coffee socials for returning servicemen and women, and lent a helping hand at local hospitals and homes. Their warmth and dedication set the tone for every occasion, turning simple gatherings into heartfelt expressions of gratitude.
As the community grew, so did their efforts. They hosted bake sales, card parties and community dinners, provided hospitality at Remembrance Day receptions, and supported local fairs and charitable drives—always ready with a smile and a willingness to serve.
Today, the Ladies Auxiliary stands as the heart of Branch 261. They distribute poppies alongside Legion members, organize membership drives and community luncheons, preserve our shared history through carefully kept archives—and above all, jump in wherever and whenever help is needed.
We owe these remarkable women our deepest gratitude. Their unwavering dedication and compassion honor our Veterans, uplift their families, and strengthen the bonds of the Tecumseh community with every act of service.
